Overview
In 1993, beauty entrepreneur Nicky Kinnaird founded the luxe boutique Space NK. What began as a single location in Covent Garden, London, showcasing Kinnaird’s personal selection of beauty discoveries from around the globe, soon became the ultimate destination for the world’s most sought-after cult products and beauty solutions. Today, Space NK has grown to include more than 60 stores in the United Kingdom and Ireland as well as over 30 stores in the US including standalone stores, shop-in-shop boutiques at Bloomingdale’s & Nordstrom.
Archateliê collaborated with Amsterdam based AHT Associates to conceptualize, design and produce architectural documents for some of these stores, including the first Space NK stand alone store located at 2000 Fillmore Street at the corner of Pine in San Francisco, California.
HIGHLIGHTS
archateliê coordinated all aspects of the project’s delivery, including interpreting design sketches from Space NK’s appointed architect, as well as a complete set of construction documents. In addition to the flagship store, Archateliê also had the opportunity to work on four of the high-end boutique Space NK stores inside of the Bloomingdale’s Stores. These units varied between 750-1000 sf in size and mirrored the design and feel of the existing stores.
