The archateliê team worked closely with Levi’s appointed Architect and Engineering firm to produce Design Development, Construction Documentation and Permits sets for 12 stores. The typical process was to take up the SD set received from Levi’s, which included a basic layout, RCP and Storefront elevations and convert it into a full DD set followed by CDs and Permit sets. The first project was developed very carefully so as to be used as a template for all the projects to follow. Our team had a great time building families with smart parameters to produce automated schedules and developing processes and systems to enable more efficient production in BIM.

The team also undertook SMEP coordination and highlighted clashes and discrepancies to the engineering team. Considering some of the projects were in Canada, we had a chance to work in both the imperial and metric systems. We took additional initiative to ensure the layouts were in compliance with codes such as IBC and ADA and developed the Fire & Life safety and Egress plans as well.
